The Technology Assessment Team consists of expert resources in the areas of enterprise architecture, procurement, security, privacy, risk management and contracts and can help you in assessing the acquisition of, or changes to existing technology and provide recommendations to mitigate risk. Where the software, application or system will impact personal information, it is critical that it be reviewed, especially if it is outsourced in whole or in part to a service provider. Amendments to The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act place express requirements on the university to have appropriate contracts in place with service providers and the technology assessment process can assist in due diligence and compliance in this and other areas.
