If you would like to request access to information, please submit an application online. Alternatively, you can print the application form and submit the completed form and application fee to:

Access and Privacy Officer
Legal Office
PMB 136 - 107 Administration Place
Saskatoon, SK S7N 5A2
Email: privacy@usask.ca

There are two categories of requests - general and personal. Please note that personal information request does not mean on your own personal behalf - it means a request for your own personal information. Unless you are a student or employee requesting access to your own student or personnel file, your request is likely a general information request.

Pursuant to subsection 6(1) of The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, an application must specify the subject matter of the record requested with sufficient particularity to enable us to identify the record you are seeking. In other words, requests cannot be overly broad or vague. If you submit a request that is too broad or vague, the Access and Privacy Officer will work with you to identify what it is you are seeking and to narrow your request.

Application Fees

There is a $20 application fee for general requests. The university may waive the application fee for personal information requests. Cheques can be made payable to the University of Saskatchewan.

Processing Fees

The university charges processing fees in accordance with The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Regulations. These may include fees for searching for and preparing records for disclosure ($30/hour), fees for printing or photocopying, and the actual cost of searching and retrieving electronic data. If your request will result in processing fees, you will be provided with an estimate and required to pay a deposit before the university will proceed with processing your request.
